About The Essex Book Awards

The EES for Schools, Essex Book Awards are open to all secondary schools in Essex, Southend and Thurrock. Pupils are invited to read six shortlisted books and judge which one they consider to be the best. The Award is flexible as each school can decide how they want to run their own scheme.
The really positive aspect of taking part in this reading challenge is that your vote really counts. Those who take part, get to widen their reading habits; improve their reading skills and meet loads of new people who like reading too!

Finally, they may get the chance to meet some of the shortlisted authors at the Awards' ceremony.
